Notice of Firm Closure

Effective December 31, 2022

The Law Offices of R. Shane Seaton, PLLC officially ceased operations on December 31, 2022, to allow Mr. Seaton to assume his role as Presiding Judge of the 118th Judicial District Court serving Howard, Martin, and Glasscock Counties on January 1, 2023.

Mr. Seaton extends his sincere appreciation to the many clients who entrusted him with their legal matters over the course of nearly 15 years. He looks forward to continuing to serve the community in his capacity as District Judge.


In anticipation of closing the firm and in accordance with applicable professional obligations, all original documents and client property contained in client files — including deeds, birth certificates, vehicle titles, wills, and similar items — were returned to their respective owners. Copies of court filings and related materials were also made available to clients through the firm's client portal for a reasonable period following the firm's closure.

Copies of pleadings, rulings, and orders filed with the court remain available from the respective Municipal, County, or District Court in which the matter was handled. Such records may be obtained by contacting the Clerk of the appropriate court.
