Attorney Mr. R. Shane Seaton

Early Life

Shane Seaton was born in Alexandria, Virginia while his father was stationed at Ft. Belvoir. Shortly after his birth, his parents returned to their hometown in the Texas Panhandle, where he spent the early part of his childhood.

The cattle and oil business took his family to Kansas. Shane graduated from Satanta High School, in Satanta, Kansas. Here he excelled in both academics and sports. As captain of the varsity basketball team, he led his team to the Kansas State tournament. Mr. Seaton still holds state records in basketball.

Mr. Seaton attended undergraduate school at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas, where he received dual degrees in Accounting and Business Administration, with minors in Marketing and Finance. He graduated with a 4.0-grade point average. While at Friends University, he was Captain of the Varsity Basketball team and was recognized as team MVP and all-conference player of the year.

Legal Education and Involvement

He later attended Washburn University School of Law, in Topeka, Kansas, where he participated in Law Clinic, was a member of the Washburn Law Journal, and graduated in the top 10% of this class. Shane is licensed to practice in the State of Texas, is a member of the State Bar of Texas and Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and served as president of the Howard County Bar Association in 2009, 2010, and 2011.

Hobbies

Shane and his family enjoy being a part of the community of Big Spring. He serves on numerous Boards of Directors in the community. Family is very important to Shane. His wife and three daughters occupy most of his time outside the firm. He is also active with church activities and enjoys hunting, fishing and an occasional game of golf.
